Mother's Grieving Heart Mission

To serve as a community for moms who have suffered the loss of a child. To let moms know that God will carry you through ANYTHING, even through the death of a child.

On November 10, 2000 Maria's daughter Crystal was killed in a terrible accident. Maria went through what no mother in the world wants or expects to go through.

When Maria was faced with the death of her child, all the books she read provided the same answer. This answer was not good enough. She began to write poetry. Her poetry was a way for her to find the answers to the terrible crisis that she could not find in any book. Through writing her poetry, Maria became closer to God and she found during her journey, that God's mercy is a sufficient answer to any crisis or devastating situation.

Maria believes that God nears you when you go through a devastating situation, when friends or family cannot help you in any way, when earthly things do not provide answers. People who have been through losing a child somewhow tend to go back to find examples of how God had a hand in their lives the whole time.

Maria hopes that the love for her lost daughter and her enduring faith in God shines through her poems to inspire others to create something beautiful in their lost child's honor. Writing is Maria's "closet". Maria hopes that mothersgrievingheart.org, with the thoughts that it provokes and the answers that it provides, will serve as a closet for mothers going through the loss of a child.

Crystal's soul lives in a place free of pain and sorrow. This is the reality that sustains Maria. The fact that your lost child lives on in a place free of pain and sorrow will sustain you.
